The CoronaVirus has caused global chaos, and it is no secret that COVID-19 is affecting everyone. The fear of catching the virus, little to no social interaction, running out of things to do while isolated at home, and the fear of running out of food and supplies is definitely impacting the state of your mental health. With that being said, here are some tips to help cope with the stresses that come along with a worldwide pandemic.
Keep track of your thoughts and journal your daily accomplishments! Keeping a journal has been proven to benefit your mental health! It allows you to better control and recognize your fears, problems, and concerns from a more organized point of view.
Take a break from reading and watching media stories!While staying updated on current events is important, the constant negativity is not good for your mental health. Limit how many news articles you read and how many hours of the news you watch daily.
Allow yourself to get at least 8 hours of sleep every night!As hard as it is to stick to a sleep schedule, getting your body into the routine of falling asleep and waking up at the same times everyday allows your brain to recharge in order to function properly.
Eat at least 3 meals a day! It is imperative to feed your body enough energy to maintain physical and obviously mental health. Make sure you are putting well-balanced and nutritious foods into your body!
Exercise regularly! Getting up and exercising at least once daily does a lot for your mind and body. Exercise is known to release stress and help deal with problems in your life!
Do something you know will make you happy! Whether it be reading, watching a movie, playing the guitar, singing, dancing, or listening to music, do it to keep your outlook positive! Treat yourself!
Stay virtually connected with your friends and family!Check on your people! Call them, text them, tell them you love them! There’s no telling when you might see them next!
