Dessert by Mommacakes has reopened in Fairfield! Baker Nicole Hughes has opened her own kitchen inside Kennedy’s Korner. From cakes to cookies, this talented lady is known for her delicious treats and cute decorations. Just two weeks after her grand opening, she already has tons of orders, especially during the Valentine’s Day season. She got into baking after her first daughter was born, and it’s easy to tell she’s always had a talent for it.
“When we had our first daughter, I wanted her to have a cake on her first birthday, but I couldn’t afford it,” Hughes said. “I decided to try and make her cake by myself and it was a success. After that, I just made cakes for family and close friends. Then, I decided one day that I wanted to make a business out of baking.”
Hughes has a passion for baking and you can see it the second you order one of her cakes. She loves baking and having a connection with her customers. She also enjoys being a part of their celebrations and getting to have a hand in helping them with their celebration.
“I love to learn about people,” Hughes said. “I love to pray with them and pray for them. It’s all about making connections. I also make wedding cakes, so I get to be a part of their special day. I get to be part of their love story. It’s just amazing.”
As soon as you walk in and meet Nicole, you instantly feel comfortable. The setting of her kitchen, her loving and funny attitude brings a feeling just like home.
“It’s very social and I love it. It’s very comfortable having people walk back and talk to me while making cookies. I love that it’s that comfortable for both of us,” Hughes said.
For weddings, parties or even if you’re just in the mood for a sweet treat, Dessert by Mommacakes can satisfy your needs. From custom decorations to amazing flavors, it’s clear that it’s the way to go.
“I thought it was the yummiest and most unique cake I have ever seen or tasted. I love that she can make unique flavors,” Fairfield teacher Misty Smith said.
