Sisters, Ashley and Kadaja Nickleberry signed to play college basketball and further their education at Cedar Valley Community College in Dallas, Texas. These sisters have played together their whole lives and have put many hours of hard work into this sport. Season after season, the two have led the Lady Lions to many victories and season records. The Nickleberry’s have so much potential and great work ahead of them in their collegiate career.

“At first neither one of us wanted to play basketball at the collegiate level but you just can’t say no to an opportunity like this one we have been given,” said Kadaja Nickleberry. “When the coach called and we went for a visit, everything fell into place and we ended up signing the same day.”

The sisters are incredibly excited for the seasons and years to come, as well as furthering their education at a great college.

“I’m anxious but also hopeful to see what the future holds,” Kadaja said. “I am not sure about what I will be pursuing just yet, but I am seeking God’s plan for my lifetime career.”

Regardless of the many obstacles of injury the past two high school seasons Ashley has endured, she remains faithful and determined to proceed an outstanding position within Cedar Valley College as well as pursue a passionate career choice.

“My injuries did not stump me, but only strengthened me as a person and player,” Ashley said. “I will be majoring in Marketing and hope to become successful in that field of work.”

The Nickleberry sisters have been a wonderful attribute to the Lady Lion athletic program and will go on to accomplish many more goals and dreams.
