Lions take regional golf tournament

This past week the Teague Lion golf teams competed in the 3A regional golf tournament in Brenham, Texas. The boys competed Monday and Tuesday, while the girls traveled down to play on Wednesday and Thursday. Overall, the two teams had a fun-filled, successful week.

The boys’ team placed 13th as a team while making wonderful memories.

“This year’s regional tournament was one to remember,” said senior Ben Whitaker. “Although it didn’t turn out how I would’ve liked it, it was a great way to spend my last time competing in high school golf.”

The girls’ team placed 7th and Senior Kaitlin Villa medaled at 4th, barely missing a shot to the state tournament.

“I couldn’t be more thankful for the years spent as a Lady Lion golfer,” said Villa. “It seems State wasn’t a part of God’s plan for me, but I am incredibly excited for the journeys to come!”

The Teague Lion golf teams have had an amazing season this year with many tournaments wins, district champion titles, and a successful regional tournament. We are so proud of our Lions!
