The Area track meet took place in Keene, Texas on April 18th. The twelve following athletes advanced to Regionals:

Individuals:

  • Michelle Moreno (Freshman) – 1st place 200-meter run, 3rd place 400-meter run, 4th place triple jump.
  • Macy Guererro (Sophomore) – 1st place Triple jump.
  • Destanee Roblow (Junior) – 3rd place triple jump.
  • Lizette Aguilera (Junior) – 320o meter run, 800 meter run, 1600 meter run, 1st place in all.
  • Abril Arrezola (Senior) – 3rd place 800 meter run, 2nd place 1600 meter run.
  • Bryan Vasquez (Junior) – 4th place 1600 meter run.
  • Tayvis Colemen (Senior) – 4th place triple jump.
  • Marcus Williams (Senior) – 1st place shot, 4th place discus

Relay:

  • Namear Herod (Freshman)
  • Drew Satterwhite (Sophomore)
  • Azaya Patrick (Junior)
  • Mychal Shed (Junior) – 4th place 400×2

These athletes all had to place within the top four to advance to regionals. They all have been working very hard to get to where they are right now. Regionals which will take place on May fourth and fifth at the Baylor Stadium. Until that day they will continue to work for what comes after, and that is State! Only the top two placements will continue on to State.
