Yesterday, Teague hosted its annual track meet with just two weeks before the district meet in Westwood. The schools that were represented were Groesbeck, Westwood, Fairfield, Mexia, Teague, and Mart. The competition was very competitive and allowed for all athletes to better themselves to make the long run to state in Austin, Texas. Among a few events, Teague came in first place in the 800m run, one and two-mile run, and discus. Varsity boys finished 3rd overall with the Varsity girls finishing 2nd.

Last year, Teague’s presence at the Area and Regional meets were profound and will hopefully be better in numbers this year.

“Tonight was evidently not our best, but anytime our athletes get to compete and show off their talents it’s a fine night,” Boys Head Track Coach Chris Hair said.

Next week’s meet is in Westwood and the track team would love the support as they gear up for District.
