The movie, which was directed by Steven Spielberg, was a dramatic portrayal of the Washington Post’s release of the Pentagon Papers. Meryl Streep & Tom Hanks are great entertainers and were instrumental in bringing Katherine Graham, the first female publisher of a major American Newspaper, and Ben Bradlee, a newspaper editor for the Washington Post, alive on the screen. The story shows the importance of the press and the first amendment; Furthermore, this story helps support women empowerment through the eyes of Mrs. Graham who struggles in what those of the time called a “Man’s World.”
